The NorthStar fall program is currently in full swing, with a host of exciting activities planned to assist children who are coping with the loss of a loved one.
The program aims to equip children with the skills they need to work through the grieving process and create new, special memories.
Melissa Kluck, Program Coordinator for NorthStar, emphasizes the importance of providing a sense of belonging for children during their toughest moments.
“Children do not want to feel like they are all alone in their grief, and NorthStar gives them a sense of community,” she explains. “Part of healing is creating a new sense of normalcy, and this grant will help children and their families create great new memories together throughout the year.”
Thanks to the generous support of community partners such as Walmart Neighborhood Market, the Pilot Club of Titusville, The Space Coast Association of Realtors® Foundation, and the Community Foundation for Brevard grants from R. Patricia Wallburg Endowment Fund and Carolyn P. Erambert Fund, the NorthStar Program is able to offer grieving children and their families free access to professional coordinators who teach healthy coping skills in a safe and supportive environment. Their contributions, along with those of individual donors, make this possible.
