“On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.” – Scout Oath.
The Scouts from troops 525 and 4117 who came to volunteer their service of folding flags on a Saturday morning were living out their oath. The United States Flags, which were flown over our nation’s capitol, will be presented to patients of St. Francis through our We Honor Veterans Program and their personal pinning ceremonies.
It is inspiring to see these young people do their duty to their country by honoring our Veterans. They were joined by Chad Buck, Scout Master and Steve Griffin, Army Veteran and We Honor Veteran Volunteer, who shared from the importance of what they were doing for the Veterans and Volunteers. Also in attendance was Lance Grenevicki, Riverside District Committee Chair, Central Florida Council expressing his appreciation to the troops. News 13 came to visit and do a story on the kindness of the troops for giving back to our community.
When the younger generation provide this kind of love and respect, it is heartwarming.
