Te-Kisha’s Life and Legacy

It began as an idea to honor the late Te-Kisha Ferguson, through a fund that celebrated her legacy of giving back to our community. Te-Kisha’s Fund was established to help meet the unmet needs of our patients, such as groceries, utilities, linens and other needs that make daily living more comfortable. The first place we sought support were the wonderful employees at St. Francis Reflections, and they rose to the occasion. Our staff spend time with patients and their families, they see the needs and know better than most that it is the little things that many times make miracles.
In January we invited the community to join in on Te-Kisha’s virtual birthday celebration through Facebook. Te-Kisha always loved her birthday and enjoyed it with her family and friends. It was the perfect gathering to launch the fund named in her honor. Te-Kisha’s commitment has been passed on to those who love her. The fund helps people in need and works to conquer distress, solve difficulties and of course celebrate meeting needs through goodness and love. Her voice, her heart and her hands are now multiplied out within the community by her family, her friends, and community members who want to make a special difference for those during the most sacred journey in life.

We hope to live our lives to the fullest. Each day we intend to fill the moments with good work towards those we meet. That was Te-Kisha’s heart and her mind. When her friends and family consider ways to honor her legacy and bring her love of people to life, St. Francis Reflections’ patients came to mind.
