The DNA of Giving

St. Francis Reflections and the St. Francis Reflections Foundation have added some familiar faces to their Boards. Steve Griffin was recently added to the Foundation board and in May was also voted to serve on the St. Francis board in a dual role. Steve also lends his hand to St. Francis both in Pet Therapy with his loving dog Sparky, as well as volunteering with our Veteran’s Program both directly with Veteran patients pinning ceremonies and speaking around the county.

Two other familiar faces are Fiona Pearce and Trinity Graham. These two additions were made with some deliberate thought. Shawn Bassham the Chief Philanthropy Officer saw a need for specific representation for the board. Trinity Graham will be the board member who represents over 200 employees at St. Francis. Trinity is the Director of APRN and has worked in our palliative care program for more than five years.

Fiona Pearce will join Steve in representing the 140+ volunteer heroes who bring their time and talent to the work of St. Francis. Many of them provide gifts as well to help us achieve our goals. Fiona has for six years cared for patients and their families. In addition to providing caregiver relief in the patients’ homes she has worked with the bereavement staff in both group meetings and calling grieving family members to offer support.

Both Trinity and Fiona are Heart of Hospice recipients – an honor that comes directly from those who work and volunteer at St. Francis. This recognition is truly the reflections of love that uplifts lives. All three individuals give of themselves every day to the benefit of St. Francis and their communities. We welcome them to a new opportunity to serve and are grateful for their willingness to love and serve patients and families.
