Veteran Care

We Honor Veterans is a National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) program, in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), focused on respectful inquiry, compassionate listening, and grateful acknowledgment. We are proud to be the Space Coast’s Level V Partner in the We Honor Veterans Program.

As a Level V partner in this distinguished program, St. Francis Reflections Lifestage Care is required to provide our employees and volunteers with continuous education on identifying and planning specialized care for the needs of our nation’s heroes. We work with many Veterans’ organizations in our community who provide assistance and support in acquiring potential benefits and other resources available to the individual and his/her family. If there is an issue, we do our best to obtain help to create a solution. St. Francis has developed integrity-based relationships with many of the great Veteran Organizations within Brevard County as best to serve Brevard County’s Veterans and their loved ones.

By recognizing the unique needs of America’s Veterans and their families, our team works mindfully to determine how to assess, guide, and serve this population toward a more peaceful conclusion to their lives. Veterans of St. Francis’ service are offered the opportunity to tell the story of their military experience. The information is compiled, and the veteran, family, and friends receive a special pinning ceremony. Families usually learn facts about their loved one’s time in the service that they never knew before. Our retired military volunteers perform these exceptional tributes. The Veterans are presented with special recognition items specific to their branch of service.

Advanced Care Planning

At St. Francis, we help uplift your life with care, compassion, and essential resources. I’d appreciate your talking to your loved ones today about what matters most.

Advance care planning can be an emotional subject, so the time to have these conversations with the people who mean the most to you is before a medical crisis. Recognizing the current climate in our healthcare system and the reality of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is more important than ever to consider your end-of-life care wishes and share them with your loved ones.

Consider Using Five Wishes®
Five Wishes® is an easy-to-use legal document template written in simple language that helps you plan, document, and communicate how you want to be cared for if you become seriously ill. It enables you to express your desires in personal, spiritual, medical, and legal matters and meets the legal requirements for an advance directive in 42 states, including Florida.

More than 35 million families have used Five Wishes to capture their wishes. Five Wishes has changed how we talk about advance care planning by ensuring that it is not just an end-of-life planning tool but the beginning of a meaningful family conversation.

To learn more about Five Wishes® or to schedule a presentation about advance care planning for your group or community, please get in touch with our Professional Outreach Department via email at POC@ReflectionsLSC.com or call our main number 321-269-4240 and ask to speak with a Professional Outreach Coordinator.

Pet Care

At St. Francis Reflections Hospice, we understand that pets are not just animals. They are part of the family. The bond we have with our pets lasts a lifetime. Reflecting on our pets’ joy lifts our spirits and strengthens us.

Planning for your cherished pets is always essential, and when end-of-life decisions are made, you can ensure that your pet will receive a good home and loving care should they outlive you. You may feel most at peace if you can arrange for a friend or family member to care for your pets. By thinking about your options early, you can document your wishes and ensure that your pet goes to the loving home that you have chosen.

Our unique Pet Pledge Program at St. Francis Reflections Hospice helps our hospice patients understand their options for creating and documenting a long-term care plan for their beloved pets. Through partnerships with community experts in animal care, we can help find a loving home if no other options exist and can facilitate this transition when the time comes.

The Pet Pledge Program offered at St. Francis Reflections Hospice is just one of the many programs and services designed to make end-of-life experiences as easy, comfortable, and worry-free as possible.
