ST. FRANCIS REFLECTIONS TO HOLD THE DASH IN LIFE 5K AND PARTNER IN TWO-RACE CHALLENGE HONORING VETERANS NOVEMBER 12, 2022

Titusville, FL – St. Francis Reflections Foundation will be honoring Veterans with Devotion, Admiration, Service, and Honor at the DASH in Life 5K to benefit the We Honor Veterans Program at St. Francis Reflections Lifestage Care.

The DASH in Life 5K is open to all ages and will be held at the beautiful Brevard Veterans Memorial Center on Merritt Island. Individuals and teams can walk, run, march, skip and can even run a virtual race if desired. Following the race, awards will be presented, and a special pinning ceremony will be held to honor all Veterans in attendance.

The unique needs of those who served in the military is paramount to St. Francis Reflections, an organization dedicated to providing the highest quality end-of-life care. “This special race is to honor those whose dash, the time between birth and death, included service to our nation. Their dash in life has overlapped ours and we want to celebrate them” said Shawn Bassham, Chief Philanthropy Officer with St. Francis Reflections Foundation.  “We want to ensure these Veterans feel the gratitude of our nation for their service.”

“As a Foundation Board member and marathon runner, I am excited and honored to direct this race! Our course is flat and scenic, and we will have lots of raffle prizes to give away to participants” said Terry Ryan, Race Director.

St. Francis Reflections Foundation has partnered with the National Veterans Homeless Support (NVHS) for the DASH – Home Challenge!  Runners and walkers can sign up for both the DASH 5K on November 12th and the NVHS Home Stretch 5K on November 13th to receive a special challenge medal!

The DASH-Home Challenge will support ongoing special projects for the care of Veterans including palliative and hospice care, homeless Veteran housing, and homelessness prevention of at-risk Veteran families in Brevard County. Registration is required for both events individually to be eligible for this challenge. Spaces are limited and registration for this challenge will end on November 3rd!

Special thank you to our community partners: Grills Seafood, Dead Bug Dave Pet Control, Miller & Hurt Wealth Advisors, Alfieri Home Inspection, Larry’s Total Auto Care, J&J Carpet One and Winn Dixie in Viera.
