I had the pleasure of visiting with Ruth Giusti and her little dog on multiple occasions. Ruth loved animals, and anyone that knew her knew that. When she was making decisions for her estate, she looked to see where she could help and that is when she learned about the Pet Pledge Program at St. Francis and knew she wanted to help.

She understood that pets are family members so she was excited to learn about how our Pet Pledge Program helps rehome dogs and cats when a patient has no other options available. I shared with her that each pet that comes into our Pet Pledge Program is given a complete check up from a Veterinarian so the new family knows any medical concerns the pet has, and they are provided with a new bed, toys and food to begin their time with their new family. She included St. Francis in her estate plan and thanks to her generosity there will be more pets rehomed.

We thought to PAWS for a moment and provided a dedication and naming of our Dog Park to the Ruth Giusti Dog Park at the Ed Poe Care Center in Titusville. What better way to share her story and love for both St. Francis and for animals. Come by and use our lovely respite for your puppies. She would be glad you did.
