Mr. Lee is a 101 Army Air Corps Veteran who later retired from the Air Force as a Full Colonel While in 1982. While in the Army Mr. Lee served as a gunner for four years during WWII, completing 19 missions over Germany and surviving a landing where the plane flipped over. Mr. Lee remained an active reservist while obtaining his law degree. At the age of 40 Mr. Lee was called to back to active duty and served 16 years at the Pentagon.
It was our honor to present to Mr. Lee a quilt named “When Eagles Fly” during his pinning ceremony. Mr. Lee and his family were thrilled and appreciative as they received the beautiful hand-made quilt, a Flag that had been flown over the US Capitol, a challenge coin, and Veteran pins. In attendance was Mr. Lee’s daughter, Karen, his son-in-law, David, as well as other family members who attended virtually.
Keeping It in the Family – Mr. Lee’s daughter, Karen, is a retired General Employee who served as a Navy Regional Director for the Pacific Children and Youth program. Her husband, David, is an Air Force Veteran who now leads the Marketing for Valiant Air Command Warbird Museum.
One More Surprise – It had come to our attention that the Lee’s were celebrating another important milestone, so upon concluding the pinning ceremony, we were excited to present the couple with a handcrafted anniversary card and cake. This celebration was to “kick-off our 20th Anniversary,” said Mrs. Lee. The couple was overjoyed and thankful to St. Francis Reflections for the kindness and care they have received. The significance of this special day will be remembered by all!
